Q: "What attracted you to this filmmaking or video filmmaking":

A: "Growing up I had a fantastic imagination and a propensity for poetry. But as my skills grew so did the urge to combine images with my poetry. I attended community college I was undecided for quite sometime. My advisor would say, "You'd be a good social worker, teacher, therapists, etc. But that didn't appeal to me. I didn't want to be stuck in a job I absolutely hated because of the red-tape etc. . For a couple of days during summer break I attend classes on Vashon Island (Seattle) I learned a technique referred to as solar printing or taking a highly contracted transparency and etching via chemicals to a copper plate out in the sun. I took photographs and poetry to create a frame so to speak.

A spark lit up in me! I was getting closer to what I had in mind.

One of my last classes was an interdisciplinary class or, two in one. Political Science and African-American history. That was the last piece of the puzzle. Film making and/or video film making, has provided for me an efficient way to tell my story and help others to tell their stories. I love it."

Q. "What's your experience?"

A. " I've worked with non-profit and religious organizations such as: Sokka Gakki International Thurston County chapter. I covered their special events for about two years. Then for about a year and a half I spent working on my screenplay. I also worked a year with the Thurston County Conservation District In Olympia editing and participating in the production of eco/habitat instructional videos.
